🏷️ Your Google Title (Meta Title)
In the previous episodes, we talked about the big problem with hotel websites and how to choose your keywords. Today, we take a very important step: How to write your page title on Google?
The Meta Title is the big blue text that appears in search results. It's the first thing a tourist sees before clicking on your site. It determines: Will they click on you or move on to someone else?
🏷️ What is a Meta Title?
It's the big blue link text that appears in Google search results. The first thing a tourist sees before entering your site.
The Meta Title determines:
- Whether you capture the tourist's attention or not
- Whether they click on you or move on
- What keywords Google will show you for
In short: The Meta Title is your digital storefront!
📌 The Golden Rule
Your title should be:
- ✅ The answer to the tourist's question — What they're looking for
- ✅ Includes your main keyword — So Google can show you in search
- ✅ Not too long — 50-60 characters is ideal
- ✅ Makes the tourist feel they've found what they're looking for
📊 Example: Weak vs Strong Title
❌ Weak Meta Title:
- "Istanbul Hotel - Home Page"
- "Welcome"
- "Hotel Website"
✅ Strong Meta Title:
- "Family Hotel | 5 Minutes to Historical Sites | 20% Off"
- "Luxury Hotel with Sea View | Best Price in Istanbul"
- "Airport-Near Hotel with Parking & 20% Discount"
What's the difference?
- Weak titles are just the hotel name — they don't tell the tourist anything
- Strong titles answer the tourist's question, offer value, and encourage clicks
🏨 Practical Example from Hosanat
On the Hosanat website, we wrote the title as:
"Luxury Hotel Istanbul | Hosanat Hotel - Bosphorus View"
Why is this title strong?
- It includes the keyword: "Luxury Hotel Istanbul"
- It highlights the feature: "Bosphorus View"
- It includes the brand name: "Hosanat Hotel"
- Clear and direct for the tourist
💡 Important Tip
Before you write your title, ask yourself:
"If I were a tourist, would this title make me click on the site?"
If the answer is "No", change it immediately!
Also, make sure your title doesn't exceed 50-60 characters so it doesn't get cut off in Google.
📈 Summary
The Meta Title is your site's first impression on Google. It determines whether tourists click on you or not.
Remember: A strong title = more clicks. More clicks = more bookings.
In the next episode, we will talk about the Meta Description and how to write it to increase your click-through rate.
